Description

The laurel leaf is a symbol of success and victory. Here it's superbly hand carved into a tiny foiled citrine seal.
Dating from the mid-Georgian period, around 1780, the seal pendant is made from solid 9 carat gold and is of lovely quality, with a simple, artistic frame. With all the hallmarks of a genuine Georgian piece like superior construction, simple yet fluid design that dovetails with how it was made, the tiny decorative nipple to the top of the teardrop-shaped hanging ring etc, it's a wonderful quality piece that's in superb original condition - showing just light evidence of wear or use, and no loss or damage.
At just shy of 1" tall, it looks killer on a chain and is a real talking point!
It's in very good, lightly worn condition, with an old gold test mark just visible to the main body. It weighs 3.5 grams and measures 23 x 19 mm. The chain seen in some of the photos is a display suggestion and not included.
